Futures firms sell you the headline — the account size and the split. The account is actually decided by the fine print: how the drawdown moves, what counts as consistency, and how fast an idle account disappears. Prop Firm Lineup puts that fine print in the same table as the price.
50K evaluations unless noted. “Eval price” shows the current promo price first, with the list price beside it — that is what you would actually pay today if the promo applies. Every price is stamped with when we checked it.
| Firm | Best-known plan | Eval price | Profit target | Drawdown | Consistency | Inactivity rule | Platforms | Payout split | Discount |

Monthly subscriptions and one-time fees are not the same bet: a subscription keeps billing while you pass, a one-time fee is done when you pay it. The sort uses the 50K entry price either way — read the “/mo” before you compare.
Our editorial picks — the Lineup take, not a score anyone can buy. Each one is tied to a rule in the table above, not a vibe.

No consistency rule once funded, a scaling plan, and payouts after 5 winning days of $150+. The trade-off is the strictest inactivity rule on this page.
Tradeify pays daily once your balance clears the $52,100 buffer. MFFU Rapid (EOD) also offers daily payouts after its $52,100 balance ($2,100 payout buffer).
The two classroom brands. Topstep brings the community; Earn2Trade has been running since 2017 and leans hard into structured learning.
These firms run sales constantly and quietly end them just as fast. One email when a price actually moves — no daily newsletter, no spam.

Your drawdown is a floor your balance can’t close through — the question is when the floor is checked and when it moves. With end-of-day (EOD) trailing, the floor only recalculates after the session closes, based on your closing balance: dip intraday, recover by the close, and the dip never counted. With intraday trailing, the floor follows your highest open profit in real time, so a trade that runs up and pulls back raises your floor into your pullback — you can be breached while still green on the day. Same account size, same dollar limit, completely different difficulty. That’s why the drawdown clock is the first column we check, and the account size is the last.
Public promo status as we found it. If a firm isn’t running a public sale, we say so — we don’t invent one.

Short, plain-English, and built around the rules in the table — not generic trading advice.
Start with the three questions that actually decide whether an account survives: When is my drawdown checked — at the close, or tick by tick while I’m in a trade? What does the consistency rule do to my best day? And what happens to this account if I don’t touch it for a month?
Only after those three should price enter the conversation — and when it does, compare like with like. A $49/month subscription and an $80.50 one-time fee look similar on day one; by month three of an evaluation they are very different purchases. Platforms come next: if you live in TradingView, a firm that only runs on its own platform (Topstep’s new accounts, on TopstepX only) changes your whole workflow, not just your login.
Last, read the payout gate, not the payout split. A 90/10 split behind five winning days and a buffer is a different product from a 90/10 split behind daily payouts. The split is the marketing. The gate is the product.
EOD vs intraday, trailing, and lock points — the four words that decide how hard an evaluation really is.
Trailing means your floor rises as your balance rises — profit doesn’t just add cushion, it moves the line up behind you. EOD means that recalculation happens once, at the close, off your closing balance. Intraday means it happens continuously, off your highest open profit. And a lock point is where the trailing stops: pass it, and your floor freezes for good.
That lock is why two accounts with the same $1,000 limit can feel nothing alike: check where the floor locks, not just how big it starts.
No firm puts “we delete idle accounts” in the headline. Yet inactivity is a standing rule at several firms on this page — and it runs whether you’re trading well or not trading at all.
At Lucid, an account with no trade netting at least $1 for 30 days is permanently deleted. Tradeify expects a trade per week on each account; MyFundedFutures expects one per 7 days. Run five accounts and you don’t have five accounts — you have five weekly appointments, and missing one is not a warning, it’s a deletion.
Household rules are the second quiet trap. Lucid caps a household at 5 funded accounts — that’s per address, not per person, so two traders under one roof share one cap. Before you stack accounts for scale, check whether the cap counts you, your household, or your payment method. The time to learn that is before the second purchase, not after it.
An evaluation is a math problem before it’s a trading problem. You have a target, a floor, and — at most firms — a consistency rule that caps how much of the target one day can provide.
Run the consistency math first. On a $3,000 target with a 40% rule, no day can count for more than 40% of your total when you finish — so a single $1,500 day means you need at least $3,750 in total profit before that day fits the rule, even though the target itself is $3,000. Traders who sprint hit the target and then have to keep trading carefully to dilute their own best day. Traders who size for the rule finish in fewer, calmer steps.
Then size off the floor, not the target. On a 50K with a $2,000 EOD trailing limit, your real risk budget on day one is $2,000 minus whatever you’re unwilling to lose — and it shrinks in effect as the floor trails up. Small, repeatable size that survives a normal losing streak passes more evaluations than size chosen to finish fast. Minimum-day rules exist precisely to stop the one-day sprint — Take Profit Trader requires 3 trading days in the eval, while LucidFlex and Earn2Trade state no minimum trading days for the eval — plan for them instead of fighting them.
